March was crazy busy. Take a look at what I did!

Between embroidering shirts for two churches and  our local school, I completed several UFOs (Unfinished Objects). I will share them will you.

Project started in March 2011 when we had to replace our tub and shower surround. I made a shower curtain and purchased a bunch of coordinating fabric.

This month, I used the coordinating fabric to make each of us a box for the small bathroom closet. I also made a bucket for Evelyn's hair stuff and I used one of those design your own flower pots that you can draw pictures on a piece of paper and put it between the white pot and the clear pot but I used the fabric instead.

My next project was supposed to be a gift for Evelyn for her birthday last May. I did not finish it.
This is what it looked like at the beginning of March:

This is what it looks like now!

Next, this was supposed to be a gift for Jayson's birthday this past November. I ended up hand quilting it so it took a lot longer than I expected, but it turned out great.

Here is what it looked like on March first.
Here is Jayson using it finally after I got it finished.

Finally, the last UFO I completed what started in October 2011 at a sewing day at our local library. I re-purposed a pair of jeans into a skirt!

March 1

Now!

This was a really sad UFO since all I had to do was cut a little denim off and sew around the bottom since I wanted it to fray. This is now my do to skirt.

Up next for April: Worms, gardening, chores and more sewing!

Soft and Cuddly????

Who would have ever thought of chickens as "soft and cuddly"? My 3 year old that's who!

This is Evelyn and her pet chicken. The chickens both allow the kids to pick them up and cuddle and carry them around. Evelyn named this one cock-a-doodle-do and she keeps telling me that she is so soft and cuddly.  Evelyn enjoys collecting the eggs which right now she gets to do everyday. Both of our chickens lay an egg a day! Anytime someone goes outside she tells them to check for eggs!

Jayson and the other hen Rocky. I just can't believe that they let the kids pick them up!

So, we have what I'll call a small "farm."  Well, we have 2 chickens and a goat but we are always adding.  We have a small garden in the summer, last year I was able to can tomato juice. We have ordered 3 apple trees to add to the 1 we have (our other one died a couple of years ago), as well as 2 almond trees. On our farm we compost, well we are learning to compost and Jayson has a "worm farm" and both kids love to gather worms and add to it and one day will get the worm poop out to add to the compost!

I can't wait to get growing this year!

My First Post

Why is March sooooo busy? My to do list is as bad as Christmas time!
This week, so far, we had a snow day, then a spaghetti dinner and talent show, and tonight a great service at church.

Anyway, I recently participated in my first swap with other crafter moms. We each did a quietbook page and we are starting to get them in the mail (I am mailing mine out in the morning). Then I embroidered shirts for my church and am working on some more for another church's youth choir. But tonight I decided to work on something else: Fabric Paper Dolls.
Fabric.com has these panels and yardages of the adorable "paper"dolls. So these are some of them that I have ironed to a heavier interfacing and will now start cutting out!
On the list tomorrow:
  1. Doctor's appointment for my husband
  2. 1/2 day of school for my son
  3. embroidering some more shirts
  4. cleaning party at church
I know there is more but will see what all gets done!

God bless!
